I’m Dr. Camila Souza, a veterinary surgeon, educator, and founder of Wise Surgeon.
Like many surgeons, I’ve had moments where I wished surgical preparation felt less scattered. I knew what it was like to jump between books, papers, notes, images, and memories from previous cases while trying to organize everything in my head before surgery.
And I also knew what it was like to want to do a good job — not just technically, but for the horse, the client, the team, and my own growth as a surgeon.
Over time, I realized that many of us were dealing with the same problem. The information was out there, but it wasn’t always easy to access when we needed it. And it often wasn’t presented in the practical, visual, step-by-step way surgeons actually think before a case.
